When are my taxes due to be paid?
For Companies:
For small companies, corporation tax is due 9 months and 1 day after the end of their accounting period. For example, if the accounting period ends on 31st December 2020, corporation tax is due to be paid by 1st October 2021.
For large companies, corporation tax is due to be paid in 4 quarterly installments as follows:
- 6 months and 13 days after the first day of the accounting period
- 3 months after the first instalment
- 3 months after the second instalment
- 3 months and 14 days after the last day of the accounting period
For example, if the accounting period ends on 31st December 2020, the instalment payment dates are as follows:
- 14th July 2021
- 14th October 2021
- 14th January 2022
- 14th April 2022
Income tax (including class 4 National Insurance)
You have to make 2 payments on account every year unless:
- Your last self assessment tax bill was less than £1,000
- You have already paid more than 80% of all the tax you owe through PAYE
